What is a useful perspective on depression?
Depression is nothing to worry about… except if you worry about it, then that starts becoming worth worrying about it, because that’s the only way to get into trouble with it
But actually it’s just a sign that in some life area we’re quite a bit off the path and here’s our friend, Ms. Depression, knocking at our door to let us know about that. That’s it, no more, no less. Adjust your path, then the depression no longer serves a purpose and just drops. Nothing to worry about, just a useful notification mechanism.
Listen to that friend knocking on your door, ask her a few questions about the potential causes and then focus – with Love, Joy, Fun, Passion, Excitement! – on the solutions you come up with through the faculty of your creative imagination. Happy overcoming depression!
Love,
Denis
ps. And yes… ignore her and she’ll kick your butt, she really knows how to make you feel so bad that eventually you’ll listen whether you want to or not. But she starts knocking gently at first and is one of the kindest companions you have on your path through life, guiding and supporting you. Love her and you’ll learn the most from her!
